Almond croissant

The almond croissant (كروسان لوز) is the most indulgent item in our croissant range. It takes the same laminated buttery dough as our plain croissant and fills it generously with frangipane — the classic almond cream made from ground almonds, butter, eggs, and sugar — then finishes with a layer of toasted almond slices over the top.

When it bakes, the frangipane swells and sets into a rich, fragrant interior that is dense and moist in the best possible way. The almond slices on top turn deeply golden and nutty. The pastry exterior gives you the expected flaky bite, and then you hit the filling — sweet, buttery, intensely almond — and it's a completely different level from a plain croissant.

This is the treat croissant: the one that belongs in a box tied with a ribbon, or that you allow yourself on a slow Friday morning with a cup of coffee.
