Our English muffins are the real version: thick, slightly dense rounds with the irregular "nooks and crannies" surface that only forms when you cook a muffin on a griddle rather than bake it in a tin. Those textured hollows are the point — they hold melted butter, egg yolk, hollandaise, avocado, or whatever you build on top.

The dough is soft and slightly enriched, cooked slow on a flat griddle so the interior stays moist and slightly chewy while the flat surfaces develop a thin, golden crust. When you split them (always fork-split — never cut) and toast them, the inside turns crisp while the outside stays soft. That's the combination.

English muffins at Khobz are baked fresh every morning in Mubarak Al-Kabeer. They're available in the standard full-size rounds and in a slider version for mini sandwiches.
